Eating out in Funchal Old Town

The "Old Town" is what it suggests, old narrow cobbled streets and wonderful buildings almost touching one another.

 

Whilst it can become a little bit crowded, especially when a couple of cruise ships have just docked, it can be a wonderful atmosphere in which to eat & drink in the evening.

 

Just like any popular holiday resort, you have to battle past the overly eager waiters pitching their restaurants, but having said that it is worth exploring the two main (parallel) streets that run East/West before settling down in the bar or restaurant of your choice.
