Travel update for Madeira

By Mark Blezard

As of the 20th of November, new COVID restrictions will apply when visiting Madeira. The most notable one being masks which are now compulsory for anyone over six years old anywhere in public spaces – indoors and outdoors, where social distancing is not possible.

The Madeiran authorities advise everyone to take the vaccines against COVID-19 but this is somewhat irrelevant given the necessity to demonstrate your vaccination status upon arrival at the airport. Make sure your vacine docs are loaded to the Madeira Safe app prior to travel, it will make your stay far easier.

I've copied an extremely useful table for the restrictions below from Madeira Island Direct. For a more detailed article on traveling to Madeira, I recommend you click here.
