The apartment, outlined here in red, is on the second of a five floor block, west facing and with two large balconies over looking the pool and sea. Although this is an artist's impression drawn before construction, it is pretty much 100% accurate bar the palm tree which I am pleased to say was never planted! Vila Formosa is a gated complex with a bus stop directly outside. Opposite the entrance you will find a newsagents (with papers from all over Europe), a fresh fruit shop, and general grocers behind. There is a taxi rank about two minutes walk away and Funchal town centre is about a 20 minutes walk (or 3 minutes by taxi). 10 minutes walk and you will find "Forum Madeira", Funchal’s second largest shopping centre which is located in the tourism zone of Lido/Ajuda. With 86 shops, including restaurants, cafés and snack bars, 6 cinemas and a hypermarket, the Forum Madeira provides everything you will require during your stay.
