| From the UK, you can usually find daily flights to Madeira from Gatwick via TAP (Portuguese national airline). However, for those based in the Midlands and North West (Birmingham and Manchester airports) the direct flights are mostly set for Mondays. From May 2007 the Portuguese government relaxed regulations that, up until this date, kept most of the budget operators away from Madeira.
